Job Requirements

1. Process customer purchases: This includes scanning items, calculating totals, accepting payment (cash, credit, debit), and providing change and receipts.
2. Provide excellent customer service: Greeting customers, answering questions about products or store policies, and resolving any issues they may have are all part of this.
3. Cash handling: Counting cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring accuracy and following proper cash handling procedures.
4. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area: This ensures a smooth checkout experience for customers.
5. Additional duties: Depending on the workplace, counter cashiers may also bag groceries, prepare food and beverages, or assist with age verification for certain products.
