Job Requirements

Electrician technicians, also sometimes called electrical technicians or electrical and electronics technicians, are skilled professionals who work with electrical systems and equipment. Their responsibilities fall into three main categories:

1. Installing electrical wiring and components: Following blueprints and electrical codes, technicians install electrical wiring, conduits, panels, outlets, switches, and other electrical components in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
2. Testing and troubleshooting electrical systems: Using specialized tools and testing equipment, technicians verify the proper function and safety of electrical systems and troubleshoot any malfunctions, identifying and resolving electrical problems efficiently.
3. Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment: Technicians repair or replace faulty electrical components, fix wiring issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of electrical systems.
4. Performing preventive maintenance: They may conduct inspections, clean and lubricate electrical equipment, and perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize the risk of future breakdowns.
