Security watchmen, so commonly called security guards, have a variety of responsibilities aimed at protecting people and property. Here are some of their key duties:

1. Patrolling assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to deter crime and ensure safety
2. Monitoring security cameras and surveillance systems to identify suspicious activity
3. Controlling access to buildings and restricted areas by checking IDs and authorization
4. Escorting or removing trespassers or unauthorized personnel from the property
5. Responding to alarms and other security emergencies to investigate the situation
6. Reporting suspicious activity or incidents to supervisors or law enforcement
7. Enforcing safety rules and regulations on the premises
8. Providing assistance to staff, visitors, or anyone in need on the property
