Job Requirements

Kitchen helpers are the backbone of any kitchen, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Their responsibilities can be categorized into three main areas:

1. Preparing ingredients: Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to recipes or chefs' instructions.
2. Stocking prep stations: Keep prep stations organized and well-supplied by refilling ingredient containers, fetching items from storage, and maintaining cleanliness.
3. Basic cooking tasks: Under supervision, you might perform simple cooking tasks like boiling vegetables, making batters, or prepping meats for cooking.
4. Washing dishes: This includes manually washing dishes, utensils, and pots and pans, or loading and unloading dishwashers.
5. Cleaning surfaces: Keep countertops, stovetops, grills, ovens, and other kitchen surfaces clean and sanitized throughout the shift.
6. Sweeping and mopping floors: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping and mopping floors in the kitchen and prep areas.
7. Taking out garbage: Regularly empty trash cans and replace liners to ensure proper hygiene.
