Job Requirements

Waiters, sometimes also called servers, play a vital role in creating a positive dining experience for customers at restaurants. Their duties can be broken down into three main areas:

1. Present menus and answer questions about menu items, specials, and ingredients (be prepared to accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions).
2. Take orders accurately, including beverages and appetizers.
3. Check in with tables regularly to ensure their satisfaction, refill drinks, and address any requests.
4. Present bills and process payments efficiently and politely.

6. Deliver food and beverages to tables promptly while maintaining proper temperature and presentation.
7. Clear used dishes and flatware from tables throughout the meal.
8. Maintain a clean and organized dining area by wiping down tables, resetting them for new guests, and ensuring condiments and utensils are properly stocked.
9. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared and delivered correctly.
10. Work collaboratively with other waiters and waitresses to provide seamless service, especially during busy hours.
11. Assist colleagues by refilling water pitchers, clearing tables from other sections, or bussing dirty dishes.
